Prof. Eduardo G. Pereira is a globally recognised scholar specialising in oil, gas, energy, and natural resources law. With more than 15 years of industry experience, he is a leading international expert on oil, gas, energy and natural resources contracts and regulations across more than 50 jurisdictions spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He is a founding partner at both the International Energy Law Training and Research Company and the International Energy Law Advisory Group. Dr. Pereira earned his PhD in oil and gas joint ventures from the University of Aberdeen. He has conducted postdoctoral research at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (University of Oxford, UK), the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law (University of Oslo, Norway), the Institute of Energy and Environment (University of São Paulo, Brazil), the Canadian Institute of Resources Law (University of Calgary, Canada) and more recently at the Naval War College (Brazilian Navy). He holds multiple full-time, adjunct, and/or visiting professorships and fellowships at leading academic institutions globally. An active voice in legal scholarship, he serves as a series editor for the Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy, an associate editor for OGEL, and has authored and edited several definitive oil, gas, energy and natural resources textbooks and scholarly articles.
